home button replacement query

hello,

i've ripped the flex cable connecting the home button and from what i've read there is no way i'm going to salvage this.. sucks but whats done is done.

so my question is do i need to buy another home button and flex cable for this button to function correctly (minus the touch ID feature) or will i be able to simply install the button i already have without linking it to anything.

Thanks in advance.

You can connect the torn cable however it will be difficult.

The home button has to be connected, or you can't reset the phone or enter recovery mode, which can be useful when you needed.

It depends on which part you have damaged if u have damaged the home button which has got the flex built into it then you just get a new button and u get click working again but no touchid… if you have damaged the flex that runs under the lcd plate from the phone board to the home button flex then you can just replace that and if it's a good quality one the button and touchid should still work :)

Eg

Changing this if that's the bit you have broken will give u button but no
