After Installing SSD-Kit iMac does not power up

Hello,

how bad... I installed the SSD with the kit, but now my iMac does not power up anymore. With power cord connected the logic boards first LED is on, but pressing the Power Button it does nothing, not even a fan.

To eliminate source of error, what are the minimum number of cables connected to the logic board?

What can be problem here? Any advices what to try?

Thanks very much.

Patrick

Update (03/05/2016)

I solved the problem. Finally I found the missing cable, it was under the logic board and found it after taking logic board out again and it was the power button connector. Now everything runs without any problems.

The overall number of small cables would have helped me to reassemble everything. Next repair session, I'm gonna count them.

I followed this Guide with the iFixit Dual Harddrive Kit and a Samsung SSD.

Thanks for helping.

Hey Patrick, the first light indicated that the Mac has power, the second indicated that there is power to the board, the thirds indicates that its communicating with the GPU and the fourth is that its communicating with the LCD. It is a possibility that when you installed the SSD that you may have unplugged either the power cable going from the power supply or the power cable going into the Main Board, check both of these.
