The device keeps turning off then restarting on its own

Sometimes, I will be using the Nokia Lumia 521 and all of a sudden, the screen will go black and then the phone will just start up again. What is causing the random restarts? And how do I fix this problem?

Thank You!

I have replaced my Nokia 2.1 battery with a Nokia 7 battery and the phone keeps rebooting itself, what could be the problem.

The likely source of your problem could be that the phone's battery is loose. Try adding a folded piece of paper on the bottom of the battery, so that the contacts on top are pushed into the battery. Make sure that the battery can stay in place.

If this doesn't work, the problem could be the battery itself is bad. You'll have to replace it if this is the case.

I've replaced a battery in a Lumia Icon (929), (with a non-replacable battery). The physical replacement was the easy part. Keeping the phone from power cycling has been the challenge. There is a cover where the battery cable plugs into the system board with a screws. I've folded some foam and inserted between the clamp and battery plug to see if a loose connection is the cause of my phones rebooting issues. So far, about two hours and no reboot. Just prior to this modification it was rebooting about every 3 minutes.
