Why my 2DS does not open?

I have a 2DS and when I power it on the blue light turns on but the screen still remains black. After some seconds it makes a wierd noise and turns off completely. My brother says that it has been exposed to water . Any ideas on how to fix it?

Rice is a food not a tool

But if it gets wet it will soak up all the water

by

@Cozy Rozema, Rice is absolutely useless. It will not remove all humidity, it will not prevent corrosion, it will not remove liquid between components and it will not prevent short circuits. Using Rice as a desiccant is the equivalent of doing nothing.

You're Both Right - Rice is a fine opening move for consumer water removal, but OldTurkey has a point, it's not going to solve your problems; disassembly will be required.

@alinorne Kevin - Rice as a desiccant is an old wives tale. Even if you boil it, it only soaks up 2X. Unboiled all it does is make a mess. Your voracity as an answer giver is at stake here, do the research!
