Looks like an actual photo...

Yea so the resistor above the connector? Looks like it's knocked off.

Yes, iMedic... it's an actual microscopic photo of the board, and yes Jake, there is a component missing above the J1 connector. Hence my question if anyone could help me find out what the component should be.

holvoetsteve your board layout is a slightly different but going by the traces from your connector to the component, it looks like C62 which is a 56PF 6.3V 5% capacitor in a 01005 package. Give us the number of your logicboard. 820-xxxx

Thanks for your input @oldturkey03 .

The board is a 820-3141-B, and after hinting me about the board revision code, I have found a matching schematic and can confirm that the missing component is indeed C62.

Thanks!

On a side-note, I bought this iPhone5 for my wife and the ear-speaker stopped working (after a few drops). A spare ear-speaker did not fix it, So i noticed this missing component, but C62 seems to be proximity sensor related...

Yes C62 is proximity sensor related. Keep on checking, where there is one there could be others:-)
