How to fix or replace the audio output?

I had my headphones on the other day on full blast and it seems like i blew something out in my Mac, because it made a loud pop and now I can't hear anything with headphones and when I put in any speakers, sound only comes out of the left one and it sounds fuzzy and horrible. What should I do to fix this problem?

Have you tried different headphones? You may have blown a cone in your ear-cans.

It might be easiest just to get a cheap USB audio adapter that works with the Mac and then plug your phones/speakers into that. There are ones on Ebay (search for: USB Sound Card Mac) for under $10.

I agree. I bought iMic for under $20. Its a USB sound Card and it also has Line Input for Microphone or importing music from old vinyls and such.
