Is there a way to just replace the glass on the home button? The Touch ID sensor does not work due to the cracked glass.

No it's not possible, the sensor chip is thinner than human hair and extremely brittle. To make the matter worse, the chip is glued to the button crystal so there is no way to remove it without breaking it.
