Replacing the harddrive with 2 drives

I have a mid 2010 Mac Mini. I've only worked on full size PC's and I'm trying to figure out what fits. I want to install a, SAMSUNG 850 EVO MZ-75E500B/AM 2.5" 500GB to boot, and a Seagate 2TB Laptop HDD 2.5" SATA 6Gb/s 32MB for storage. Will the mini recognize a 2TB drive? Can they both fit without removing the optical drive? If so is what is the preferred location for the boot drive?

Yes You can connect two drives internally.

You'll need to remove the CD-ROM drive then you can install one of the two drives you want to. You'll need to swap out the other for the current drive.

A set of directions to install the two drives and remove the cd-rom is available here.

There is no preferred location for the "boot drive" as you can select which drive to boot from when the mini starts up (by holding down the option key on the keyboard when you turn the mini on). But you'll need to install the OS on it first. You can also set the boot drive via the Startup Disk control panel.

Put boot drive (obviously SSD EVO) to optibay position. Than you will get sata II speed insteads of SATA I speed.
