Will this hard drive cable fit all early 2006 a1150 821-0442-A

MacBook Pro 15" 2006 early model A1150

I'm not sure if it is the hard drive cable and don't have the laptop here with me but wish to cover all bases.

I would also like to fit a SSD SATA hard drive, is this possible I looked at the hard drive cable in IFIXIT but it was listed as a late model cable for A1150 2006.

I'm not sure what you require from me as I have been answering the posts and comments but probably in the wrong section.

Hope this solves the partial answer. I also would like to put SSD drive in place of current HD, is this feasible.

I apologize if I posted in wrong sections but barely computer literate and over 70 yrs old so memory a little slow

I found this cable in fixit MacBook Pro 15" (Model A1150) Hard Drive Cable but that's only half the question I would like to put a ssd in this laptop.

Also is there a difference of the cable, the one showing is for late 2006 and I require for early 2006

This is a really old system so you will have some issues trying to install a SSD to replace your current HD.

To start with your system uses an older SATA standard - SATA I (1.5 Gb/s). Todays drives run much faster! SATA II (3.0 Gb/s) or SATA III (6.0 Gb/s). You'll need to find a SSD drive that is able to run at the slower SATA I speed.

If you are trying to speed up your system you may find going to a SSHD hybrid drive as a better direction. SSHD drives are a standard HD with a SSD as a deep cache. This gives you the benefits of both drive types giving you the deeper storage of a HD and the speed of the SSD. Review this: Seagate Laptop SSHD this drive is a perfect drive as it is able to run in your system without any problems. Here are the two drives IFIXIT offers 1 TB SSHD or 500 GB SSHD.

As to replacing your current drive follow this IFIXIT guide: MacBook Pro 15" Core Duo Model A1150 Hard Drive Replacement.

Lastly, you shouldn't need the cable unless you have damaged it.
