Why can I not see my desktop or hard drives

Hi,

I opened a file (on the desktop) in Photoshop and began to do a small amount of retouching. My compputer then began to freeze with the wheel whirling around. I turned the G5 off and restarted. I now only get a blue screen. I have restarted using Option + Cmd + P & R, but without joy. I'm pretty sure that I was running on Tiger 10.5.8 but cannot find my system disks. Great! I've had the computer some 10-11 years and have numerous files on the hard drive(s). It has not caused a problem up until now tbh. Please advise.

Hopefully you have systems on both drives. Startup holding down the option key to find out.
