Maximum Sized Hard Drive

What is the largest size hard drive that I can instal into a Mac Pro mid 2012, Apple indicates 2TB (https://support.apple.com/kb/SP652?local...). I presently have 2 X 2TB and 2 x 1TB. Can I upgrade any of these with a 3 or 4TB drive?

By default, this system shipped with a single 1 TB (7200 RPM, 32 MB cache) Serial ATA 3Gb/s hard drive. Apple formally supports up to 8 TB of storage with four 2 TB hard drives (one in each internal bay).

As long as the drive is backward compatible to 3Gb/s I don't see whey you couldn't move up. I do have a 3 TB in my 2009 MacPro.

My MacPro is the original MacPro. I have installed two 4TB plus two 2TB drives and it works without problems
