Spilled Milk On My MacBook Pro

Hi!! I know this has been a very asked question and i know i am very stupid but I spilled milk on my macbook pro 13" retina display awhile ago around 12 am(its 2:10 am now) And probably half of the milk spilled directly to the air vent!!!! I have a rubber case for the keyboard so all of it went to the air vent and as soon as it went through it, it turned off!! I immediately wiped my laptop with a towel and because i was nervous af i tried turning it on but it failed. Please I am in desperated need for help. Though i've read a lot of threads that says its definitely dead. I am hoping that it could still be fixed. It means so much to me bc my dad gave it to me as a birthday gift :-( Yes I know i'm stupid and should have put away beverages near my laptop so I hope you wouldn't point it out :-( hoping for a fast and good reply!! Thanks!!

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

You need to take it apart clean and up and don't be scared! It is not dead only sleeping .

John - Matt9;24 He said unto them, Give place: for the maid is not dead, but sleepeth. And they laughed him to scorn.

I immediately turned it on its right side. Milk came out. I left it on and started to use it to transfer info to a flash drive. Got that done and working on it now. No more milk seems to be coming out. I keep thinking that the heat from the computer will dry things out. I do not know if I should plug it in. I am at 81% and if I just make it sleep it will be okay. I guess only time will tell.

If it turned off immediately afterwards, it is probably fried. If you turned it off and unplugged it and took the battery out afterward, then there is still a chance. Liquids do not damage electronics unless they are powered on. If it shut down on its own, there is little hope, I am sorry, and we can only learn from our mistakes. If you were quick on the draw and powered it down and cut the electricity to it, then take it apart and clean it up. Use alcohol as it evaporates and be very careful. The worst that could happen is that it does not help and you just learned how to take a Mac apart. You can always take the HDD out and hook it up to another PC or Mac and extract the files. Chances are that is good to go.

You should'nt tell him it's fried , maybe a few parts got hot but its not shot, REbuild Rebuild!!!! oh liquids do damage electronics off take a look at a board sitting in coke or milk for a month with no power lol.

Probably fried is just that. Spoiled milk on a powered up laptop. Do you know how much a replacement motherboard be? I know the replacement for mine would have costed just shy of what I paid for it.

But to touch on your point, I said it is probably fried, and if the cause of the power down was the spill opposed to user shut down, it is probably fried. Emphasis on probably.

Well in that case it's probably ok ......lol. Yes I know how much ppl try to ask for them . If you say Fried it sounds really bad when most of time I see a Fried is actually just a blown component. Sometimes they even hold up later just cause immediate shutdown but later work with clean up.
