problem downloading pictures from galaxy note 3

I have 5 pictures on my phone. When I download to my laptop it comes up with over 2000 images to download. When I click on one of the downloads it is not a picture but rather a smiley face or ad. How do I get these off my phone and make it so they will not come back?
