Replaced batter but System Information not picking up new battery mode

I recently replaced the battery on my Macbook but after going into Apps, Utilities, System Information, and then Power (this is where you check the life cycle). I noticed that the Serial Number for the battery has not updated. Will I need to program this? Please help.
