Will insurance cover my repair?

I recently got water over my MacBook Air and I took it to a local tech repair shop and they said they couldn't fix it, they never changed anything inside just ran some tests. After I found this out I phoned my home insurance and told them what happend and they told me to take it to my local Apple Store and they will either replace or repair it and I was wondering because someone other than Apple opened up my laptop will they still fix it under my home insurance?

Opening it does not void your warranty, water does. No problem with opening it. Changing things may. As long as you give Apple their outrageous fees, they don't care. But get a quote before they start. You may be better off selling it on eBay as water damaged and just getting a new machine.

Thank you!! The insurance told me it would be a £200 excess for a new laptop so hopefully it all works out
