Why is there a burn in image on startup of my monitor?

When I startup my monitor there is a burn in image on 3/4 of the screen, but goes away after the monitor is on for a couple of minutes. I'm curious why does this happen? Is there a way to fix it?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

That's what screen saver programs are for. Turn yours on under your display or energy saver options.

This doesn't really answer my question, I know how the image got there, I'm curious why the burn in only appears on startup and then disappears after the monitor has been running for a while.

This was a little helpful, guess I'll have to reword my question. I might not actually have a burn in but a different issue.
