Would this indicate DC MagSafe board failure?

I had a charger go bad & tried to repair it, regardless I had to buy a new charger, so I did. I notice there is no light on the charger, so I took off the cover of my Macbook Pro, for a closer inspection. Nothing appeared to be burnt or corroded. Everything looked great.

As a preliminary I checked the chargers with my volt meter, I checked the charger to verify the new charger is getting the correct power output, it is around 6.8 DCV, which according to what I have seen is correct. I even tried another charger & checked it as well, both are the same. Both chargers are new out of the box.

I plugged the charger into the macbook & checked the leads on the magsafe board, the leads should be measuring the same, however all of the leads, don't give me any readings. I assume this means the magsafe board is dead? To test this theory, I checked my wife's macbook and the leads are getting power, her computer showed power actually coming through the leads correctly.

Is it common for i/o magsafe boards to fail? I did not actually take her board out and install it in my computer, because I believe her computer is having a current sensing issue (dim green light) & did not want to chance any other failure in mine. Any pointers would be helpful.
