Where can I get a new power button assembly?

I was following the iMac Intel 27" EMC 2429 guide to install a second drive and accidentally pulled too hard on my power button cable assembly. I didn't realize it was cut until I screwed it up even more.

I basically need a new power button assembly with the headers properly inserted in to the 2 header pinout that inserts in to the mainboard.

Anyone know where I can find one of these?

Geting to that button required a complete teardown.. You would be much better served spicing and soldering the cable.

It did indeed require a complete teardown. You're probably right but I won't be able to do this until next weekend as I'll be out of town. If I can find a power button assembly I'll be more than happy to buy one while I'm out of town so I can do this when I get back.

I tried to solder it today but the solder in my posession was not as precise as I'd like it to be and the solder I had was just not fit for that small of space.

Also would you recommend I solder it on the outside of the power button switch instead of on the inside? Or is it really user preference at that point...?

How long is the cable? I may have one from a 24" that would work for you.

Hello, if you don't mind after so long. My cable pulled out out the button assembly completely. Any guides?
