Power button LED Blinks when I press power button.

Lenovo T430. Tried following steps, No luck. Refer to my Video here.

  • Try charging the Battery to Full
  • Remove Battery and tried booting it with Power directly.
  • Changed the Keyboard.
  • Removed the Bios Battery and tried to switch on.
  • Removed the RAM and tried to switch On.

Is there a pattern to the blinking?

No It just lits up and turns off. I dont think it is a pattern.

is there one or two sticks of ram

Do you get any fan sounds? Do you hear the hard drive spin up at all

yes i hear a fan sound, it comes and goes off (the sound)

Try removing one stick of ram if you have two and test one stick at a time in each of the two ram slots. Then test the second stick of ram in both ram slots this will tell you if you have bad ram or a bad ram slot. if it still doesn't work you need to consider getting out a multi meter and tearing open your computer and testing the circuit board starting at the power outlet and working into the board

I tried the RAM swaps , no change. Also Fan wont turn on. I am not familiar with electronic circuits.

I have a T430 with the same issue. LEDs (power Fn F3 ) are blinks one but the laptop does not turn on.

I triedtoclean the connections, remove the batteries....no change.

Once i removed the RAM and the unit booted up.

So the issue is the following : it works with no RAM, but it does not work with installed RAM.

The problem is the same with the old and a brand new RAM also.

Any idea?
