Where to buy replacement CPU socket?

Greetings,

Where can I buy a replacement CPU socket? I have searched and searched and only been able to find one store on eBay in China. Anyone know a place in the US?

"Charles, if you can find one, how would you solder the hundred + connections?"

You do not solder. You heat the socket with heat gun to melt solder balls.

Would be better to buy another motherboard.

Charles all searches came up Shipping from China/Hong Kong/Taiwan to worldwide (7 to 19 business days) for the replacement CPU socket Foxconn-H2-Socket-LGA1155-CPU-Base-PC-Connector-BGA-Base-/231098753262. It may be worth trying to place the order on Ebay for the price of part $3.59 and shipping $3.30.

Good luck with the part and installation.

They come with solder on the grid. You use heat gun.

Or you can BGA Reflow them if you have the balls and stencil

by

You just added a clean socket. No solder on it to reflow.

@mayer sounds like robert is referring to a reball. Solder balls and stencil combined with a rework station can accomplish this task.
