Line of business laptops originally sold by IBM and then purchased by Lenovo in 2005. Older models (Pre-XX50) have a WiFi whitelist, so wireless card replacement is not as easy as buying a bulk generic card online.

Lenovo Yoga 12 BIOS Supervisor password unknown

I purchased a Lenovo Thinpad Yoga 12 through an auction and it has a supervisor password for BIOS editing. The Laptop boots fine into windows but I cannot activate many functions due to this as they are disabled in the BIOS.

Any ideas/assistance would be appreciated.

Frankly, I'd take it back, tell them your issue, have them contact the seller for the password or give you your money back if it cannot be provided or ask for an original bill of sale to prove that it isn't stolen.

Thanks Mayer, here in South Africa the auctions buys are non refundable, it's a right out purchase so I'm stuck with it. Must be some way around it, always a way. Thanks for your advice.
