Hi. I have a whirlpool washing machine that stops working when it gets to the rinse or spin phase. In order to keep the cycle running we have to manually pull the timer knob at an angle and hold it out with some strength to get the cycle starting again. I have a video but don't know how to attach.
What could be the problem here?

Hi,
It sounds like your washer timer is faulty. I have attached a link which shows how to change the timer. It is for a top loader though, as I do not know the type and model number of your washer. You should search online with your machine make and model number to see if there are any videos showing how to change the timer for your model, if it is not a top loader.

If you wish to change it yourself you also have to find out the exact part number for your machine. Either contact to company who made the above video or check out the info below.
Here is a link to the Whirlpool spares / washers/ timers. At the top of the page there is a search function where you can search for a particular model which may help you to find the correct part. As you can see you really have to know which timer is applicable for your particular model
