Will it work without its stock display?

Hello everyone,

I'm having some horizontal lines issue on my screen. Right now, I'm using my laptop with an external monitor, the original screen is closed. I would like to remove the screen completely with all the wires etc. Will my laptop work properly then?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Sorry No!

The rub here is the lid assembly is also where the Bluetooth & WiFi antenna's are located.

Leave your lid on for now until you have the money to get it fixed. Review this IFIXIT guide: MacBook Pro 13" Retina Display Late 2013 Display Assembly Replacement. Here's the IFIXIT part: MacBook Pro 13" Retina (Late 2013/Mid 2014) Display Assembly - Apple P/N: 661-8153. You might find a used assembly which would be cheaper.

Thank you Michael and Dan!

I'll look for an used lid then. This is so depressing, I paid 800 dollars for the laptop, the screen is almost half the money

For $10 on ebay you can get an usb wifi / bluetooth adapter and work around the missing top panel.

Yes it should still function without the display panel attached.
