How to recognise corrupted EFI chip?

Hi there,

I've got MacBook Pro 15" 2012 i7 - I find out someone tried to solder EFI chip and now I don't know if its just that chip still faulty or firmware corrupted or..... just Macbook is Dead :(

Symptoms:

- it is charging as usual

- when pressed power button just fans spin for second

- "white light" on for a second

- display is black

Take it back to the seller. Sounds like a stolen machine to me.
