my computer is not getting switched on .It is asking as insert a boot media into selected boot devise and press any key

Sounds like it has a bad/corrupted hard drive, or no operating system installed

This could be caused by a bad/corrupted hard drive as pointed out by Chris or simply a lose/bad cable or a miss configured BIOS.
