My iPhone 5 won't startup even with the hard start

i have an iPhone 5 that will not start the normal way or even when pressing the power button and home button at the same time.

Generally, the process a technician follows is as follows

1. Test several chargers and connectivity to the computer

2. Make sure charging jack is clean of all dust and lint

3. Attempt to exit DFU Mode to be safe, hold both Power and Home Button for 10 seconds then release only the Home button

4. Change the lightning connector

5. Change the battery using a charged battery

6. Change the screen

This is the process I follow, usually I am able to find what is wrong within these guidelines

Thanks Stephen

I'm now on step 4 of your solutions and just ordered the lightning connector. I'll let you know if that works.
