Can the replacement logic board be unlocked?

I have an iPhone 4s 8gb and would like to have more storage space. The logic boards available here are as large as 64gb for the 4s. My phone is currently unlocked. If I replace the logic board can it be unlocked as the replacement boards are different from my current provider?
