No startup chime, white screen, no bootable device

Hello,

I have a late 2011 13" MacBook Pro which won't boot. When I power it up there is no startup chime and no apple logo, just a white screen. After several seconds I get the following error:

No bootable device -- insert boot disk and press any key

I have tried an SMC reset and reseating the RAM but it won't work. The MacBook also won't boot from the OS install CD. The MacBook doesn't react to the options key on startup or any other command, I am not able to reset the PRAM as there is no boot chime and the MacBook won't respond to the command. Lastly I've also tried a different HDD, without results. I am at a loss. Does anybody know what it could be?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Replace the hard drive cable first, your machine does not see the hard drive. I prefer the cables from the 2012 model as they are more substantial. Do not get a used one! To confirm my diagnosis, disconnect the cable from the logic board and boot from the original system installation DVD.

Unfortunately it still won't boot after disconnecting the HD cable.

Is this with the DVD in? Press the "C" key on startup.

Yes, with the DVD in. Tried both "C" key and the Alt/Option key. Both aren't working. I noticed there was a part on the logic board which seemed suspicious. It looks like it was burnt. It's between the fan and the RAM. I've taken a picture of it.
