Replacing the logic board

Hi,

I have a Macbook Pro A1211 2.16Ghz system that I recently upgraded to Yosemite. I was very happy again that my laptop had a new life. About two weeks after the graphics card died. Black screen and no DVI output either but got the bootup chime. Tried everything it fix it. Google made it sound like the GPU fried.

I rather not replace this logic board with the same one. Is there a better one I can shoehorn in this? Maybe an A1260 or newer?

Thanks!

Tidal, How did you manage to upgrade your OS to Yosemite? You should not have been able to go further than 10.7.5??

There are only 2 machines in the A1211 series. Your 2.16 and the 2.33. You could go with the 2.33 board:

Apple part # 661-4230
