Cmos chip location on board

OK i have a d620 that I replaced the motherboard on. I bought it from a website and i have a bios password that will not let me set the date and time or change my boot order since it is locked by the password, I contacted the company and they sent me a new board that worked 3 times before it stopped working and will not post. I do not want to get another board, I would like to fix the first one.

This is NOT a stolen system, I do this as a hobby and for my family. I need to locate the chip that stores the password so I can swap the one off of the original board that has a bad video card. Any help would be appreciated.

Your laptop uses different boards. You will have to properly identify the motherboard

The board is the one with the intel video chip. The model number is OXD299 I believe.

Check the documentation on your motherboard and see if there is a CMOS reset jumper you can use or a CMOS battery to take out.

TY but this is a laptop not a PC and there is no such jumper on it that I can locate. What you are talking about is something I have had to do when I purchased PC's from the local university. They had Admin passwords set and I had to clear about a half dozen in that manner. Removing the CMOS battery had no affect at all as well.

Does it have solder beads?

by

NO would have 8 legs on it. See several don't want to change them all. LOL
