backlight not working on iPhone 3G

my iphone 3g was dropped into water and now my backlight is not working

you can try opening and cleaning your phone-pay particular attention to connector 1. if when you replace your LCD it is still dim you could try replacing the LCD but it is more likely the connector is damaged or the coil. this is link to an answer for 3gs but it may be of some help in identifying the faulty part and how to fix it.
