Why does my charge indicator show fully charged when it is dead?

It's been a bit weird lately...only comes on when connected to PC, click wheel not working etc. Now it shows fully charged when it is actually dead(when unplugged it dies right then). Anyone have any ideas? Dave

I have the same problem even AFTER installing a new battery...does it mean my battery replacement wasn't successful or that I have another Problem?

Before the replacement I wasn't able to load the battery, now it's telling me at least that it's fully loaded...
