Why is my screen black?

I have tried everything, yes even turning it on and off over and over. I dropped my phone earlier today on carpet and the screen just went black. There are zero cracks, it just won't show anything. The phone still continues to vibrate whenever I get a notification. I've tried using YouTube tutorial videos to help, but I am not tech savvy and I'm not sure what wires I'm supposed to be looking at, or what I'm supposed to be looking at at all! Any help would be appreciated.
