Broken Home button Spring?

I have broken off the gold looking spring on the logic board, i bourght a solderer to put it back on and now I have lost the bit? where can I get this it is the gold spring part right next to the lcd connector? thanks

I believe the diagram for the home button is like this: http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/215...

In that image when the digitizer is in place 1 and 2 are in contact with each other and 3 and 4 are in contact with each other. The button just completes the final connection.

A wire soldered between 3 and 4 would do the job if you lost your spring.

Same here. I've read other forums where people have soldered a hair-thin wire to bridge the connection between the gold spring and the gold home button. All you need to do is bridge the connection. It is not the sensor that determines when the home button is being pressed, just the connector. That's what I understand.

It probably will work but not for long. You need something with a bit of "spring" to it so it keeps constant contact with home button.
