gold spring for Homebutton connection

Hi,

I lost the little gold spring (in the middle) for the Homebutton connection.

Now I want to fix a self made spring instead of.

Is this little spring fixed with a screw or solded?

Do you have experiences with replacing this spring?

Thank you very much,

martin

Hi,

I fixed the little spring successful, but suddenly the iPod did turn on again. When I opened the iPod, the little spring was broken and lying on the logic board. Do you think the logic board is gone now, because the spring touched the little transistors, or will it work again?

It still doesn't turn on!

How can I find out if the logic board is broken?

Thank you very much.

The spring is soldered. I replaced one and had to use a needle nose plier to hold it while I soldered it. Put a little solder on spring and a little on board and applying it will be a lot easier.
