Spilled sparkling water on keyboard. Rebooted. now no power. Dead?

One day ago I spilled about a half cup of sparkling water on my keyboard. I immediately turned it upside down to drain the liquid and then righted it to turn it off. After maybe five or ten minutes I turned it back on and it seemed fine. Today, however. I noticed that whenever I would go into applications that had text typing features like Facebook and Excel, it was continually typing the number 8. I tried removing the number 8 key and blowing air into the key socket then it starting continually typing the number 9. So, I shut it down again, and now it refuses to power on at all. I had shut it down before I used the compressed air and it rebooted fine. I suspect the compressed air might have fried something.

I'm wondering now if my hard drive can be salvaged at all?? It's been a few months since I've done any kind of back up of my files. Can this laptop be saved?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Let it really dry out for a week or so in a warm dry spot. You probably still had water in it. It's the contaminates in water that conduct electricity not the water. You may be fine after it has completely dried.
