Activation of TRIM in terminal

I'll install a SSD on my iMac mid 2011 21.5 running El Capitan OSX.

After installation do I need to enable TRIM in Terminal?

Good question!

Sounds like you know how to enable it in Yosemite and did it then. If you run it again it should report its still enabled. The setting is held in the systems firmware.

Here's a good writeup on how to enable it and check it: Latest OS X update allows you to enable TRIM for third-party SSDs

Thanks for your answer. Sorry if I explained myself wrong. I haven't done it yet. Browsing to get the right SSD and installation kit. Now I confirmed what I was thinking about. I'll have to run "sudo trimforce enable" on terminal after preforming the SSD installation. :)
