at times gas leaks from some where on the carburetor trails down the choke knob can't see where it's coming from trying to avoid taking off tank to get a better look

David G, you may have some leaking vacuum lines, which siphons some of the fuel out. Hard to determine unless you really take a good look at it. Since you did not tell us how your Honda runs when the fuel teaks, it is also possible that your float / needle valve is getting stuck and your carburetor floods.
