my i phone 4 s wont switch on or off wont charge when i put it in the charger it shows the battery is empty and when i take it out its says connect to power please help is my phone totally unfixable ?

damianhart1981, start off with some basic stuff. Make sure that you are having a good working cable. Check your dock connector to make sure there are no bend or broken pins. Check for any debris in the port. Clean it with some isopropyl alcohol and a few puffs of compressed air. If that does not achieve any results, open your iPhone and replace the battery. Check the battery connector, make sure it is still properly attached and that there are no components missing. No results with that, replace the dock connector. Check the power flex make sure that there are no tears etc. After that you are looking at the components on the logic board for which you will need a schematic, a multimeter and some knowledge of components etc. Use these guides to work on your phone
