Weird smudges on iPhone 5S Camera?

Hello all,

I have some weird smudges on my iPhone 5S camera. They've been there for a while, so while I was taking apart my iPhone a couple of days ago I tried to clean the lenses and camera housing as well as the thin plastic film that the camera sits in inside of the phone with a q-tip but still have the same problem. I was sure that it jiat the lense being dirty but I guess not.

Would I need to replace my camera? What do you guys think?

Here's a link to a blank picture with a white background. It looks like there are 4 or 5 smudges on it. http://i.imgur.com/ZqPqi7o.jpg

The smudges don't move about or change position and they come up in every photo, in some photos hard to see but it others very present.

I'm sure that this isn't a problem qith my screen since you can see the smudges on any device used to view the smudges, and the front facing camera doesn't do the same thing.

Thanks for the help.

Front or Rear camera? I had to clean lots of dust out of my 5s a few days ago. Did you clean it just with a q-tip or did you use alcohol? When taking it apart can you see any dirt on the lense in the housing?

Otherwise you should try a new camera, they are not that expensive.

Thanks! I'll definately try this out. I didn't try alchohol but I'll try it and see how it goes. If it doesn't work, then I guess I'll replace the camera.
