Phone got wet and my husband turned it on

We are not it trying to take if apart ourselves i wanna make that clear before i begin. A few hours ago my husband who owns the galaxy note 4 accidentally dropped his phone. Mid way to the fall he went to catch it and it slipped again he used his foot to stop the fall and with horrible luck it bouces off and landed in the dogs water dish. Now the water dish was pretty much empty maybe a cm of water in it at the time. He turned the phone off right away took it outside to his blowgun n lightly blew it off, no water came out. It seemed fine. Against my warning and pleads to put it in rice for at least a day, he turned the phone on. It worked fine for about an hour and then the screen went black. He turned it off we put it in rice for about 2 hours, hes impatient, and tried turnin it on. When he did touch screen worked but the screen still stayed black. He will be leavin it in the rice for the next day. However, can anyone give me an idea of what might be wrong

AmiraAliza, shaking a phone and placing it in Rice does absolutely not work. One might as well not do anything. The airgun can potentially drive the water deeper into the phone and under the components. What needs to be done is that the Note will need to get opened and properly cleaned. For that you would have to disassemble it, use isopropyl alcohol and clean the board as well as all other parts. The battery will also need to be replaced since those batteries will fail eventually with any kind of water exposure. Since you made it clear that you are not going to take the phone apart you may want to find somebody that does specialize in water repair. Keep in mind that water damage is the hardest to troubleshoot and to repair.
