You should remove and reseat your RAM chips. If that doesn't remedy the situation the try one RAM chip at a time on each slot. Good LUck. Report back and let us know what happened.

It's simple, here's the code meanings, Marcus is correct, the light flashes these beep codes + 1

The beep codes were revised in October 1999,[2] and have been the same since. In addition, on some models, the power LED would flash in cadence.

1 beep = no RAM installed

2 beeps = incompatible RAM types

3 beeps = no good banks

4 beeps = no good boot images in the boot ROM (and/or bad sys config block)

5 beeps = processor is not usable

The first thing a Mac does when it turns on is run a full hardware check. The next step is the chime(there is a hardware issue if you don't get anything to show up on the screen). If there is an issue with the hardware check, your Mac generally will play a combination of beeps that correlate to a certain problem. Also, the light on the Mac should flash the same beeps. Majesty has the best solution. Generally the issue is on the memory sticks. Try switching the slots, then try using one at a time until you get passed the hardware check. Also, holding D while starting up can push your Mac into a hardware diagnostic, but that doesn't always allow you to get to that screen depending on the issue. Your problem is hardware related between the logic board and RAM. Your hard drive and software is fine.

one little thing - the light flashes the beep code +1

The beep is the important combination. The light generally will do a long flash at the end of the beep combination. The Apple rep I work with, it took us almost 10 minutes to figure out the combination, but the beeps are the most important, not the flashing. The flashing helps to figure out the beeps though.
