What is the operating temperature of my MacBook?

Hi, I've installed my new fan and it's working well. I followed your instructions. It made the job simple, simple, simple. I've worked on PC's before but this was my first Mac.

The fan seems to be working well, but I am still getting temps in the 120 - 130's.

What do you think could be causing the overheating?

Answer this question I have this problem too

First I would install a good sensor monitoring app like: Temperature Gauge Pro. Make sure you completely disable (remove) any other app you may have installed before installing Temperature Gauge Pro.

Often older systems like this need a bit more work.

Hopefully you did a good job cleaning out the dust, the next thing here is the thermal paste. You'll need to remove the heat sinks following this IFIXIT guide: https://www.ifixit.com/Guide/MacBook+Cor... make sure you completely remove the old paste and apply a good quality paste back on. Here's what I would use: Arctic Silver ArctiClean & Arctic Silver Thermal Paste You'll likely need two tubes. Follow this Technique: Applying Thermal Paste.
