I dropped my phone and my screen went black.

I dropped my iPhone 4s and my screen went black. I figured it was going to be ok beacause I could still hear my notifications going off. But I didn't know how to fix it. So I just left it alone eventually my phone died. I tried charging it but that didn't work. Also my front screen is cracked. Would that have anything to do with my phone not being able to charge?
