Replaced Front panel on iPad 4

I replaced a shattered front panel on my wife's iPad 4 this weekend. However when I was finished the display would not turn on. I connect the iPad to my computer and it was recognized but still no display.

When I opened it back up to see what connection may have come lose. I found that the LCD cable clip had come off during reassembly. How do you get this clip back on? I read about the tape/cutting a small piece of screen protector to wedge in with the cable but it didn't work. Is their another fix to keep the cable tightly connected without reinstalling the clip? Or do I need to buy a all new ribbon connector?

Answer this question I have this problem too

The kind of connector you are speaking of is an FPC connector. FPC replacement is a fairly difficult repair. So we want to do anything we can to avoid replacing it. I assume you are talking about the black jawbone when you say the clip came off the connector. It is possible to re-install it, assuming the clip itself isn't damaged. What I personally do is wedge something in between the cable and the connector. I use a piece of the old digitizer cable, after putting the LCD cable in then I wedge it in there. Not at the same time. The old digitizer cable seems to be a perfect fit for this, and is smooth enough to slide in. I will attach a few pictures, hope it helps! If all of these efforts fail, you may want to take it to a professional.
