Crucial SSD MX100 vs MX200

I'm looking to upgrade my HDD and install a SSD as primary drive and then use existing HDD in optical bay drive for mass storage. I've found some good options on crucial.com but curious if any major difference btw the MX100 and MX200 series.

I've got a Late 2008 aluminum macbook running 10.8.x, 8gb ram and not plans to upgrade OS.

Answer this question I have this problem too

Be careful here! Moving the HD over to the optical drive location looses the crash guard protection Apple has in their systems. Unless you bought a replacement drive with the technology onboard I would leave the HD in its original location.

The other option here is to go with a Western Digital Black2 drive which is a dual drive (discreet HD & SSD in one device) or a Seagate SSHD hybrid drive vs the SSD upgrade in the main drive bay.

Thanks for the advice. So if I keep the existing HD in place and install the SSD in the optical drive location, will I be able to then boot from new SSD (use as startup) and just keep the HD for mass storage?

you can definitely do that!

Yes! You'll need to go into the startup pref settings to change which drive OS to use.

I also did a comparison using their interactive website but just didn't understand some of the spec differences. As I asked earlier, my main objective is reliability, not speed. Thanks.
