The aluminum PowerBook G4 was released by Apple to replace the previous titanium-body model. The 12" and 17" versions debutted in January 2003 with the 15" version following in September of that year.

PB G4 Aluminum, 1.5 GHz ppc: bottom 2/3 screen blanks out

The bottom 2/3 of the screen blanks out until I adjust the screen on its hinges. Problem is getting progressively worse. External monitor does not have same problem, I suspect failing connection?

Probably the cable from the logic board to the LCD is going bad since the problem changes when you move the screen. Since I don't know which 1.5 you have I can't leave a link to a specific guide. I am however leaving you a guide to help you pick out your model. Good luck. Ralph

You might have a failing LVDS (video signal) cable. iFixit doesn't seem to have it in stock (correct me if i'm wrong) but you can find one here.
