shades/halos on display after home button replacement

I replaced correctly home button on Iphone 4 but the only problem is display because it has light shades/halo so what it means?

I used isopropyl alcohol but in other parts and I permitted they were dried.

What happened?

I followed with great care all your steps as indicated in iPhone 4 Home Button Replacement to replace the home button in iPhone 4 and I think to have made no errors. I always sed surgical gloves.

This problem is not visible in white/black color background screen.

I used isopropyl alcohol in few dose by dropper for metal-to-metal parts (ground clips) and I dried immediately for 30-60 seconds blowing air from my mouth!

This smartphone is not mine so I’m not sure it the problem was just there.

I’m thinking where I made mistakes so I ask myself:

1- isopropyl alcohol??! Some drops reached front panel when I was assembling my iphone?

2- One month ago I applied 2 drops of isopropyl alcohol on home button and I continuously click it for 2-3 minutes, I remember Display had no problems. Then I left iPhone to owner and I don’t know if problem was

start afterwards. Yesterday I didn’t verify lcd before to replace home button!

3- During reassembly stage I left the clear plastic pull tab (used to lift the battery and you can see in step 6) under the logic board (you can see in step 19). When I noted it I remove only the 2.4 mm Phillips screw (that was hidden underneath the sticker in step 16) and I pull away and rip the clear plastic tab so I think few plastic piece is always below logic board. Can it this one the problem?

4- When I disassembly away the front panel from steel inner frame I layed the front panel (digitizer + LCD) on a cotton cloth, it’s this problem?

Do you think always is isopropyl alcohol?

From the picture that you posted, it seems that some alcohol got inside the screen, between the backlight and the LCD.

I would be tempted to say that there is no way to fix this. Just let it dry, and if you're lucky, it should become a little better. But may be traces will remain.

However, there IS one VERY RISKY way to fix this: you'd have to remove the screen assembly, then gently separate the backlight without tearing the cable and damaging the LCD, wipe the IPA using a lint-free clothe, then put everything back together. This could fix it at best, or ruing the whole screen or damage the LCD, or further damage the backlight. Again, if I have to choose, I would leave it as it is. I am just mentioning this method for accuracy sake, and I recommend that you avoid it.

No, if you leave it and use it, the alcohol will dry and the "smudge" will decrease. May be disappear.

If you want to break open the screen assembly, then yes you have to completely disassemble the phone again to remove the screen. There is always a risk that you will damage something in the teardown process, and an extremely high risk that you will damage your LCD during the separation process. So leave it as is.

Your ipa got in the screen. You can get a new screen for like 15$, totally not worth removing the back light.

Don't use any liquids near lcd's or camera's.
