How to fix it
My microwave (GE JE 1360WC001) door will not open..when I press release nothing happens must be broken

The link above shows that the door release is connected to a spring and lever arrangement. The lever or door hook could be broken or the spring could have come loose. You gotta open up the microwave to see what is going on.

how do I get to the problem part? thanks greg..the door won't open
Remove the top cover first to gain access to the back of the control panel and door release.
Don't forget to unplug it first! ;-)
