Broken glass or more than that?
hello,
In a samsung S5 with broken galss, how can I know if I need to replace only the glass, or the LCD, digitizer, etc?

Hi Fursten!
The screen on a Galaxy S5 is as follows
LCD basically bonded with digitizer
Glue
Glass
If you can see anything on the screen then glass needs to be replaced
Sometimes broken glass affects touch functionality
If you see any LCD bleeding or black spots on the screen then the screen needs to be replaced

Looking at the pictures I can tell you the glass is the only thing broken. The touch screen is the common name for the digitizer. The digitizer on the S5 screens are bonded to the LCD so you don't replace it. The LCD looks good, but digitizer/glass most certainly does not. Here comes the other issue. Unless you have plenty of experience and the right tools to separate the broken pieces from the LCD and then to re-adhere those, it will be very difficult. Consider either having someone else do it for you, or replace the complete display assembly.
